Butch Dener & New Paltz VFD Members : Butch Dener is a 40 yr citizen of New Paltz NY and has long been involved with the NPVFD. He is honored to be involved in raising funds for the NP VFD members who are volunteering for EVP in Israel. Individual members of the NP VFD will be doing this on their own time, not through the NP VFD, but they have the full support of their VFD in this admirable and heroic venture.
Butch Dener & New Paltz VFD Members
Butch Dener is a 40 yr citizen of New Paltz NY and has long been involved with the NPVFD. He is honored to be involved in raising funds for the NP VFD members who are volunteering for EVP in Israel. Captain Scott Schulte : Scott Schulte joined the New Paltz Fire Department as a Cadet Member at the age of 16, in 1997. Scott became a Lieutenant at age 22, and Captain at 26. Captain Schulte is certified in dozens of Firefighting topics. Specifically, Captain Schulte will be bringing experience and training in the following topics to aid the people of Israel: Emergency Bus Rescue, Emergency Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Officer Command Operations, Confined Space Response, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Firefighter Survival, Advanced Emergency Management, and Advanced Pre-hospital Care. Captain Schulte is responsible for all training within the Department, as well as all firefighting operations and manpower during emergency incidents and is a Certified Code Enforcement Officer. Captain Schulte is the Co-leader of the Ice Rescue Team, Boat Rescue Team, and Extrication Team. Captain Schulte has worked as a Police Officer, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic; and is currently a Court Officer and the Fire Safety Officer for SUNY New Paltz. In his spare time, Scott is finishing his Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management.

Assistant Chief Kevin Maguire : Bio: Kevin Maguire has been active in the fire service for over 25 years. He is currently a career Fire Lieutenant for the Arlington Fire District in Poughkeepsie, NY and a volunteer with the New Paltz Fire Department in his hometown. In his volunteer service he has held numerous Officer positions, and is currently serving as 2nd Assistant Chief. Kevin has been a New York State EMT-Paramedic since 1986 and served as a Fire Instructor for New York State between 2005 - 2010.

Bio: Kevin Maguire has been active in the fire service for over 25 years. Firefighter Steve Greenfield : Steve Greenfield has been a member of the New Paltz Fire Department since January, 2004. He holds NYS certifications in Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Firefighter Survival, Wildland Fire Suppression, Fire Behavior and Arson Awareness, and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations. Steve is a member of the Boat Rescue Team, the Extrication Team, and is in his third term as NPFD Secretary. Prior to moving to New Paltz, Steve was from New York City, and graduated from the New York City Citizen's Police Academy in 1998. He is a member of the New Paltz School Board, is married with three children, and works as a musician.

Lt. Rickard leads and instructs the department’s Rope Rescue Team. Lt. Rickard is also the co leader of The NPFD’s Boat Rescue, Ice Rescue and Extrication Teams. Chris graduated from SUNY’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY and currently manages Lake Taghkanic State Park.

He has completed Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 National Certifications, Firefighter Survival, Auto Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue Tech, Hazardous Materials Tech, Ice Water Rescue Tech, EMT- Basic, Strategy and Tactics for Initial Company Officers and many more. He also served as 3rd lieutenant in 2008-2009. Roger is currently finishing his associates degree in Fire Science and has started working on his bachelors in Emergency Management. He is passionate about firefighting and has no other ambitions in his life other then to be a career Firefighter. He loves serving with the New Paltz Fire Department and his fellow brothers.
